Cleaning Up
Pacing and organizing a helpful clean-up strategy that works best for you might make cleaning up feel more manageable. Taking your time and using an organized approach by pacing yourself while cleaning up, instead of rushing to try and do it all at once, may provide you with a helpful energy-saving and time-saving strategy. It may take time and practice to be patient with yourself and take your time, but eventually certain strategies may become easier and more helpful for you.
Some Examples Include:
Gather all non-washable items into a plastic bin used for meal prep and put the bin away.
After this step, take some time to rest.
After resting, gather all of the washable items into a plastic bin, add soap, hot water, and let the items soak.
Take time to sit and rest before placing items in dishwasher if you have one available to you.
If you don’t have a dishwasher available to you, take your time washing each dish while resting in between, and listening to your body.
Offer yourself kindness and compassion when possible, especially if you can’t clean up and need to rest. Your health and well-being are always most important, and the dishes can wait. : )
