MCAS Food Storage
Cooking and food storage methods can affect the histamine content of foods.
While some foods contain more histamine than others, other important considerations include food cooking methods and storage methods, since these can affect histamine content, too.
Histamine can build up over time in food, so cooking methods like slow cooking may not be ideal when trying to minimize histamine content.
Additionally, storing foods like meats and leftovers in the refrigerator may allow more histamine to be produced over time, so freezing leftovers and other foods may be a better option for those trying to minimize histamine intake.
